Google finally joins the digital payment system in India by the introduction of its customized UPI-based payment service app ‘Tez‘, a simple and secure way to pay for things online and offline.
As the word Tez means ‘speed’ in Hindi, the app aims at faster and secure means of payment. This is a standalone payment app that is now available on both iOS and Android. It is powered by UPI, which is a payment protocol built by the government-backed organization NCPI.
Tez app enables functions like- make payments using cash-mode, uses phone’s contact lists for easy and quick transacts, help small businesses to get payments directly to their savings or individual accounts, its protected by Tez Shield and works with 55 banks for UPI for 24/7.
In the coming months, more ways to pay(wallets or credit cards) will be introduced and also other phone manufacturers like Micromax, Lava, Nokia, Panasonic etc. will take up this app for making it even easier to get started.
