Facebook made its messenger app “Lite” available for low budget android phones also.
This app has features similar to Facebook’s popular messaging services with the exception of voice calls.
Its main aim is to reduce the consumption of mobile data. While comparing with other messenger apps, this app needs only 10 MB phone’s storage, which makes its installation process quick.
“With this messenger app ‘Lite’, more and more people can stay connected, no matter how their network condition is or how much storage space they have in their Android phones,” Tom Mulcahy, Engineering Manager for Messenger Lite, wrote in a blog post.
Initially, it will roll out in 5 countries namely Malaysia, Tunisia, Kenya, Sri Lanka and Venezuela.
