Recently I went to Trivandrum on a short 3 day trip (actually 7 days, as 4 days spent in travel via train). I was not able to visit & explore much in this short span of time, but if you ask me to define that part of India in one word, than the word will be ‘Peaceful’ (Slogan of Kerala Tourism is – God’s Own Country).
By the way I noticed various things which are different there (in South) than what we see here (other parts of the country – subjective to whatever I have visited).
First difference was noticed in the train itself. It was a 2 day journey (one side) and the train was cleaned twice in that time span and air fresheners were sprayed in the train. I was just thinking about that and then a boy came to me and you will not believe it, he asked me to fill a feedback form. I stood astonished for a couple of seconds. Then I filled the form (obviously everything positive) and than thought about it after he was gone. This work was outsourced This thing changed my views about the Indian Railways (at-least Southern Railways). I don’t know that it is an initiative of Southern Railways or it is mandatory to all zones but I do really appreciate and happy to see that this is really well implemented there. Along-with this the staff was also very-very co-operative & humble.
