Most of us dream about going on a vacation that lasts a couple of month, which might never come or if it does, it would last just a couple of weeks, isn’t it?
Here is a young man who has brushed off such stereotypical lifestyle, and went on an adventure with his family. Let’s take a look at his story.
25 year old Garret Gee has taken his family on a permanent vacation. He has taken his 29 year old wife Settie and their two children – Dorsey and Manilla for a permanent vacation around the world.
So, What’s the real story?
Garret is an entrepreneur who co-founded the mobile scanning app Scan. He and his co-founders had sold the app to Snapchat. The deal, done in 2014, was reported to be valued at around $54 million with $30 million in cash and the remaining as equity in Snapchat.
So, we naturally think Garret used his money from the deal for his family adventure.
But surprisingly, no.
Garret and Settie have funded their vacation so far by selling off their belongings such as TV, extra clothes, cars and furniture.
The family has already travelled to a handful of exotic locations, such as Bahamas, Indonesia, Thailand, and more. The family has a blog, where they update their adventures, http://www.thebucketlistfamily.com/
In the blog’s about us, they have said – “We were going to take the typical next step in life and “grow up” and build a house and settle into careers..buuut how bout not! We’re not quite ready for that.”
