Android Apps to be a Part of Windows

Android Apps to be a Part of Windows

News became wildfire when Microsoft decided to bring Android apps into the Windows Ecosystem. Now it is finally here!

With the latest windows 10 upgrade you can now use your favourite Android apps on windows phone. But be cautious, it can get a bit tricky. The process isn’t easy and can force you to re-flash your device.

One of the defects that currently inherit this technology is that it isn’t supported by all the devices. Some of the devices that it currently supports are:

  • Nokia Lumia 920
  • Nokia Lumia 925
  • Nokia Lumia 929 / Verizon Icon
  • Nokia Lumia 830
  • Nokia Lumia 930
  • Nokia Lumia 1520
  • Nokia Lumia 635 (1GB RAM variant)
  • Nokia Lumia 730
  • Nokia Lumia 820
  • Nokia Lumia 435
  • Nokia Lumia 928

Since it is still in its experimental stage, users have reported many bugs that have come with it. The device being frozen or a complete forced re-flash of the device some two common glitches. So be careful to use this only on a development device.

Another key issue that needs to be addressed is, if the apps are dependent on a Google service they will not function on a Windows 10 device. While it makes Microsoft look like they are giving up, in a bigger picture it does solve the issue of not having high quality apps.

P.S: The process involves the use of APK’s, which might be illegal in your area. So ensure these before you proceed.
